You write to breathe, for the air is too thin to hold words. You hide in false memories because reality is for to compromising. You dream to see, and speak to hear. There is no independent variable, just writing that feeds itself, always drowning. You stare down at your bleeding hand, sitting on a rock billions of years old, surrounded by trees and snow. The wind howles through evergreens, in your mind you can imagine the chirping of woodland animals had they not gone extinct. You watch the sun dip beneath the skeletons of deciduous trees, and your shadow casts across the lichen. This is neither empty nor full, it is. The hum of the interstate lies just over the next rock, you can hear it echo, reminding you that this place has been touched.

After

I'll head back to Thermopolis soon... just for two days. Then I'm off to Las Vegas with a not-so -quick detour at the University of Utah to measure some Allosaur skulls. Finally, I'll be working at a geotech lab, doing soil stuff. Not as glamorous as Allosaurs, but certainly more financially viable. But most importantly I'll be with family.

Managed to help unite the disparate college democrat groups at the Democratic State Convention in Wyoming, and finally leave feeling like I've accomplished something as president of the Rocky Mountain Democrats. Spent last night in a bar discussing issues with the college dems while buying their leader drinks (his 21st birthday). Looks bright for next year.

Louisa will have the Honors House, and I'll be scraping pennies at the Marshmallow House with Liam, Nathan, and Rob. I've patched things up to a degree with Scott, but we'll never be friends like we were. At least that I thought we were.

The past few months have compltely changed my life. I don' t know if it's for the better or for the worst. Hopefully I'll find some answers to that in Las Vegas in a week or so.

Goodbye for now,
Brandon
